The Nature of Britain
Jakso 1, kausi 1. Join Alan Titchmarsh on a journey of discovery through eight key British landscapes, as he tells the stories of the surprising relationships between the land and the creatures that live there, and pieces together the puzzle of what lives where – and why! The Nature of Britain also celebrates our pride in the very best of Britain’s flora and fauna: from magnificent boxing hares to bizarre dung beetles, and from the story of the tiny harvest mouse to that of the mighty golden eagle. Familiar creatures are shown in new ways, while rare and elusive creatures are shown for the very first time.

Jaguar Adventure
Jakso 5, kausi 1. Nigel Marven’s on the hunt for the world’s largest jaguars in South America. Travelling deep into the heart of the Pantanal, a wetland the size of Britain, Nigel comes face to face with these magnificent cats and chases down scientists who are rushing to save them on Brazil’s burgeoning cattle ranches. Nigel’s time is short, he’s just four weeks in the world’s biggest wetland to find his jaguars and as many of the amazing weird swamp creatures that he can. He hopes he’s timed his trip just right to coincide with the end of the dry season, ahead of the forthcoming rains. The animals should now be concentrated around the drying pools, making wildlife spotting a great deal more realistic. As the waters recede Nigel finds a host of characters at the most trying time of their lives. Patrolling the banks of one of the remaining rivers, the Cuiaba, Nigel and a crack team of jaguar spotters spend days searching for their quarry. He camps beside the river putting in long nights as well as days to find a cat known to be illusive. His diligence pays off with some of the most amazing jaguar encounters ever filmed. Many crews leave the Pantanal without filming a whisker but Nigel manages to follow one cat all afternoon!

Wild Animal E.R.
Jakso 1, kausi 1. This documentary series gives an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. Based in the South-East of Britain, Tiggywinkles is the biggest of its kind in the world. It is also unique, in that it specialises in rehabilitating Britain's indigenous wildlife. The wildlife hospital started life operating out of a small garden shed, but it now serves as the hub of wild-animal care in the UK. The hospital has a policy to never turn any ailing creature away. Its ultimate goal is to nurse all injured animals back to health before releasing them into the wild. "Every animal that comes through the doors of Tiggywinkles is dying," says co-founder Les Stocker, "and it's our mission to give these incredible creatures a second chance at life." Filmed day and night over a series of weeks, Wild Animal ER follows dedicated vets and volunteers as they tend to the full spectrum of Britain's wildlife.

Boteti - The Returning River
For the past 20 years the Boteti River has been nothing but a dry, dusty riverbed. Now all that has changed and the river is flowing once again, bringing life-saving water to the animals that live in the region. Excellent rainfall in the Angolan highlands this year fed Botswana's Okavango Delta to overflowing, which allowed water to follow decades-old pathways to places like Leroo La Tau. Here the Boteti River is flowing once again, transporting this vital element to elephants, crocodiles and many other animals that have survived the arid and unforgiving landscape by walking long distances to drink from waterholes. Many of these animals have never seen flowing water before, and the elephants (Loxodonta africana) in particular are celebrating the arrival of the long-lost Boteti.

I Bought My Own Rainforest
Jakso 1, kausi 1. Wildlife photographer Charlie Hamilton James has just bought 100 acres of the Peruvian Amazon, without even looking at it first. He plans to spend a year photographing the animals on his land, before launching a campaign to protect more of the forest. But it turns out buying a piece of land over the phone isn't such a great idea. Instead of the green heaven he was imagining, he's bought a coca plantation, an illegal logging camp and a few fields of struggling crops. The reality of what he has taken on soon hits home. Over the series, Charlie discovers that the problems facing the Amazon are now all on his doorstep - the drug trade, illegal gold mining, logging and even poverty. In order to make the right decisions about his land he needs to understand these problems. He sets out to learn more by living and working with the local people and begins to realise that the way to help preserve the rainforest is not to buy it, but to engage with the people and work with them rather than against them. Incorporating Charlie's photographs of wildlife and people into the story, this is a jungle adventure that takes in everything from poisonous snakes and hallucinogenic shamanic brews to flesh eating diseases. In the end, his quest comes down to one very simple choice; the question is, has Charlie learnt enough about the Amazon to make the right decision? Ohjelma sopii kaikenikäisille.

Jack Taylor
Jakso 1. Set in Galway, the series is based on Ken Bruen's crime novels and features Iain Glen in the title role of old-school detective Jack Taylor, a former officer with the Gardai (the Irish police force), and a maverick who often drinks much more than is good for him. He is fired after the motorist he catches speeding turns out to be a government minister Taylor assaults when the man threatens him. He is subsequently hired as a private investigator, reluctantly taking on the cases the police will not investigate, because there are no private eyes in Ireland--"It's too close to being an informant – a dodgy concept". However, he soon realizes his experience suits him to his new role. He is aided in his investigations by his contacts, including some of his former Gardai colleagues, notably Officer Kate Noonan.
